In this activity you will fill out the food pyramid with the correct food groups and list at least 3 foods in each category along with the amount of each needed. After the pyramid is filled out, you will be put into groups. You will create a meal plan for your group for a week incorporating all the recommended foods. You will present your meal plan to the class in a chart. The chart should include your meal plan compared to a typical meal plan that ignores the food pyramid.
OBJECTIVES: As a result of this activity students will;
1. Understand what a food pyramid is.
2. Be able to catorgorize which foods fit into each category.
3. Create their own menu demonstrating an understanding of the food groups.
4. Make a chart seperating healthy from non-healthy foods.
